The IMS Solution from LN Engineering has literally revolutionized the way we look at the Boxster and 996. These cars always held, for me, the idea of a ticking, time-bomb. Even though I own one, I always looked at it as less than capable because I was never sure when it was going to grenade the IMS bearing and force me to find another motor. That was until now... after installing the IMS Solution! This is a great piece of kit that is really well engineered to solve the dreaded IMS bearing issue. Now that we have experience with the product, we are offerring it as a service. It's by no means cheap... it's about $600 more to install the Solution than one of the "retrofit" bearings. But, if you think about it, the retrofits are supposed to be replaced every, roughly, 35,000 miles or at every clutch change. So, if you install the Solution, after the first clutch swap, you've already saved a ton of money. Plus, you can drive around however you want, without having to worry about keeping the revs up and oil changed every 2,000 miles.
